Sulfate-Free Surfactants
I love this handy chart from Innospec’s presentation: “Formulating High Performance Sulfate-Free Cleansing Products”.
As you can see, surfactants have a working pH range. Some surfactants can hydrolyze at a low pH (SCI, Iselux, Sulfosuccinate).
